Product Description:
vBulletin Nexus allows vBulletin discussion forum software to integrate user authentication with Facebook-connect and Google Friend-Connect API’s
STEP 1 - OPTIONAL
As a precaution turn OFF vBulletin forum and backup your forum database! While this step is optional - it's always a good idea to backup your forum before attempting a major product installation or any changes.
STEP 2 - CONFIGURE A FACEBOOK API KEY FOR YOUR FORUM (This is done on Facebook)
  • Go to http://www.facebook.com/developers/
  • Set up New Application
  • Set Callback URL to vBulletin Forum URL (http://www.mysite.com/forums/)
  • Switch to Canvas tab and Set Render Method to IFrame
  • Switch to Connect tab and set Base Domain to your Domain (mysite.com), no www or http.
  • Write down the API KEY and the SECRET KEY
STEP 3 - CONFIGURE A GOOGLE API KEY FOR YOUR FORUM (This is done on Google Friend Connect)
  • Go to Google Friend Connect http://www.google.com/friendconnect/
  • "Set up a new site", choose "Friend Connect for standard web sites"
  • Upload 2 files as instructed into homepage root & test to create site-id
  • Write down the Google Site ID (ex. Site ID: 03276973104682XXXXXX)
STEP 4 - UPLOAD vBNexus TO YOUR FORUMS DIRECTORY
  • Unzip the vbnexus product package
  • Look in /uploads/ folder and find directory "vbnexus"
  • Upload "vbnexus" and all files inside it to forum root directory
    example: http://www.mysite.com/forum-root/vbnexus
  • (Example picture shows vbnexus directory in your forum-root directory)
STEP 5 - ADD VBNEXUS PRODUCT
  • Go to vB PRODUCT MANAGER
  • ADD NEW Product product-vbnexus.xml
  
STEP 6 - CONFIGURE VBNEXUS - IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW THIS IN ORDER!
  • STEP 1
    Go to     ADMINCP->VBOPTIONS->VBNEXUS CONFIGURATION

  • STEP 2
    Enter Google Friend Connect SITE ID
    Enter Facebook API Key
    Enter Facebook Application Secret Key
    SAVE SETTINGS!

  • STEP 3
     Under "Facebook Wall Feed Template Configuration" click the "CLICK HERE" link
    Review the facebook feed templates and change if needed.
    Click "SAVE CHANGES" even if you did NOT make changes.

  • STEP 4
    Go back to vBNexus options and review settings
